So we heard that Christmas is about connection…

With a shopping list to rival Santa’s nice list, diaries bulging and Christmas day only 3 weeks away, we can often forget to enjoy the beauty of the occasion.

So we thought we’d take a look at ways we can feel more connected with ourselves, friends and family. We put it out to the team and came up with our Top 5.

1. Write a hand written card

Write a hand written card to yourself, neighbour, parent, sibling, coworker, child or friend. There’s something pretty special about receiving a hand written note in today’s electronic world.

That’s why we created printable gift cards and tags for you to use for those messages of love and gratitude. Click the link to access your free gift cards.

2. Be present (and we’re not talking of the gift variety!)

Put time aside to be present and decorate the Christmas Tree with family, friends, your partner or just yourself. Grab a glass of bubbles (or Kombucha in my case), chuck on some Chrissy carols, sing, dance and nail that decoration placement.

3. Connect with you

Ok, this one is hard but SO worth it, even if you can only do it once. Take time to connect with yourself. We’re not talking about trying to achieve 1 hour a day without your mobile, ‘cos let’s be honest, that’s just torture. We mean taking time to have a relaxing bath, light a scented candle or watch your fave Christmas movie with a loved one (pet’s included!).

4. Make time for those magic moments

I know when I’m busy that I’m guilty of being so focused on doing what needs to be done in order to finish my list that I forget to live. So when the opportunity arises to drop in on Beryl next door and have a cuppa, pick up the phone when Mum calls or even make those mince pies you’ve been promising your work mates (hint, hint) take it as a magic moment, because that’s where the memories are made.

5. See what’s happening in your community

There’s an abundance of joyful things to do in your local community during the Christmas period. From carols in the park with a picnic, gingerbread house making for the kids, to checking out the local Christmas light displays, local Christmas markets or the obligatory photo with Santa. Try to make time for just one community event, it’ll get you in that Christmas spirit.

With love,
