I recently spent a few days down in Cornwall with some pretty amazing chickens, pigs and cows, the world’s best dog and a pretty lovely boyfriend too. I don’t know what it is about that part of the world (south west coast of the UK) that is so special, but the train ride back up to London always makes me want to turn right round again and find myself a sunny patch of Cornish coast to spend my days…

While I don’t want to make you too jealous so soon after my introduction, I’m finally heading to a place that has been on the list for a while!

With a long, hard, northern hemisphere winter nearly over, my boyfriend and I decided it was time for some sun, beach, blue water and a bit more sun. So we booked our tickets to Greece! And just how amazing does that look?!

Anyone care to join?

If it’s a little too far away, I promise to share the holiday snaps.

ImageImage3Image6Image9Image10Image11Image5Image8Image2Image13Image12Image19Image14Image17Image15Image18Image22Image23Image16Image20As we rolled into Byron Bay in a 70′s kombi van for a four day getaway, I knew it was going to be a great few days. Sleeping in a kombi with the back opened up to the sounds and beauty of one of Australia’s best beaches, listening to chilled out tunes, feeling the energy of crashing waves, and swimming with dolphins – I felt nothing but absolute contentment.

After 2 blissful days there, we headed to the beach with a hired surfboard, hoping to muck around and teach ourselves how to surf (or should I say simply stand up!). As I sat there literally thinking that life could not get any better, my boyfriend of fours years pulled a ring from his boardies pocket and asked me to marry him. Oh my goodness! Without a moment of hesitation, I said “Yes!”

Not only did it take me by complete surprise, but I am still beaming from the miracle that a great man wants to spend his life with me. Me?! And I too want to spend mine with him.

xx

Special thanks to Graeme and Brooke who lent us their much loved kombi for what was to be one of the most special weekends of my life.

First morning, peaking through our makeshift curtains to the sea // The amazing work of Jai at Ahoy Traders // Our retro kombi // View through the kombi up to the lighthouse // The ridiculously beautiful Wategos Beach // Surfer’s vans pulling up at the beach // My new tassles from Ahoy Traders // Popping the top on our kombi // More of Jai’s tiles – unbelievable! // People-watching at Wategos // The very spot where he popped the question // Surf life saving box // The blue of the water and the sky // Frozen yoghurt and fresh fruit // Vintage rug // Gorgeous teepee at Spell & The Gypsy Collective // Bikins from Sol Bellow // Watching Chris attempting to catch a wave // Looking out from the kombi to the beach // The first of my amazing rings from favourite designer, Satomi Kawakita
