The Wild Unknown

I have such admiration and appreciation for those highly talented people out there who keep it simple and bring inspiration into the world in their own small way. Here are two people, creating and sharing the most beautiful little drawings and music, from a wood cabin they built. So special. x

She Loves To Draw

How freaking talented is my sister?!!!!!!!!!!!! Her work just makes me cheerful! I know she is my sister, so you might think I have to say that (in the same way your bf tells you you’re the most beautiful girl in the world… I mean really?!) but in this instance I wholeheartedly mean it. She is in the process of setting up a website, but in the meantime you can check her out here x

Friends To Keep You Warm

Just excuse me for a moment while I pick my jaw up from off the floor………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Ok, I think I’ve sufficiently recovered (well, sort of). How are you doing?!

These jaw-dropping beauties are artfully hand-drawn, painted, and embroidered by Singapore-based Izziyana Suhaimi. She says, ‘I am attracted to the evidence of the hand and its time-consuming aspect, which runs counter to the instant gratification and mass-production centred age of today.’ I am honestly still so stunned, I am actually struggling to put anything into words right now. So, perhaps it is best if you head over to her Tumblr and order your custom amazingness right now. Best to let the art do the talking x

True Self

Melbourne’s GPO has launched a charity exhibition throughout the month of June, asking Australia’s finest creatives – including the likes of Akira Isogawa and David Bromley – to produce a one-of-a kind work of art. I love the collaborative concept, whereby each artist adds their ‘mark’ before sending it on to another. At only $200 per piece, you can buy your very own original with proceeds going to the  charity initiative Fitted For Work. Head here for more info…

The Fox And The Flower

When I stumbled across Kari Herer’s still life photography artwork I was… how do I put it in words?… Exhilarated, thrilled, enlivened, completely and utterly inspired! Not only am I wholly enchanted with the talents and creativity of the people that surround me, but it is also the incredible strangers in the world that touch and amaze me. The Big Harumph

I’m not so good at expressing myself, especially when it comes to matters of love. I can squeeze out an “I love you”, but ask me to expand on that and I’m useless. I guess you could say I have  some issues?! That is why I love the big harumph’s colourful and graphic linocut prints, which say the things I want to but without sounding mushy. Not to mention how fun they are for your walls. Find them here
