Back To Basics

With the speed that fashion trends come and go, it can often leave you staring hopelessly at your wardrobe saying the most common statement known to women worldwide – “I have nothing to wear!”… Well, that and “nothing’s wrong, I’m just tired”.

Happens to me regularly, which is rather frightening considering I need a whole room to function as my wardrobe (I’m actually cringing as I write this)… Anywho, I’ve made it my goal of late to get back to basics – think denim, knitwear, loose tees, leather, and that classic blazer. And, I realised the style I admire most on people usually involves these basic ingredients. So, here is some denim inspiration to get you started…

Did I really just suggest wearing the things you already have?! Wow… that’s impressive x

Friends To Keep You Warm

Just excuse me for a moment while I pick my jaw up from off the floor………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Ok, I think I’ve sufficiently recovered (well, sort of). How are you doing?!

These jaw-dropping beauties are artfully hand-drawn, painted, and embroidered by Singapore-based Izziyana Suhaimi. She says, ‘I am attracted to the evidence of the hand and its time-consuming aspect, which runs counter to the instant gratification and mass-production centred age of today.’ I am honestly still so stunned, I am actually struggling to put anything into words right now. So, perhaps it is best if you head over to her Tumblr and order your custom amazingness right now. Best to let the art do the talking x

Treasures In Palm Beach

I am completely in awe of Heidi Middleton’s vintage treasures thoughtfully strewn around her Palm Beach home. She describes her style as “intuitive, nomadic, contradicted, spirited, modern and free”, but it is the uniqueness of her collections and styling that I find most enthralling.

Loft Studio

Really enjoyed this week’s photo shoot with stylist Beck Simon and photographer Derek Swalwell. Would totally love my own home/studio like this one day! Amazing light, large windows, and exposed brick = perfection.
