Bright Ideas

Okay, so at first I cringed at the prospect of neon making a comeback. Don’t get me wrong – I love colour but I don’t necessarily love wearing it. Seeing Christopher Kane for J Brand transported me back to a time I’d rather forget. Having just finished school, I thought it a good idea to buy a Bonds fluoro pink singlet (or should I say ‘wife-beater’) and wear it with anything and everything. I relished in how cool, how stylish, how ‘on the pulse’ I had become. I look back now on masterfully hidden photos and think (in a screaming voice), “WHAT WAS I THINKING?!!!” Which brings me to now, feeling rather cynical about neon and how it deceivingly led me down the garden path in the past – do I risk it again? These images have me almost thinking yes… almost.

Dragon Tattoo

Anyone with a penchant for Stieg Larsson’s ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ and the computer-hacking investigator protagonist Lisbet Salander, should probably start getting excited around about… now. We’re one day away from the release of costumer designer and stylist Trish Summerville’s collection, and, while dressing like a main character from a soon-to-be Hollywood blockbuster may not be your thing, the collection remains undeniably cool (all at an H&M price point too). Find it here… P.s. The leather jacket and pants are my picks!

Sneakers and Studs

I can honestly say, I don’t think I have ever seen a more perfect pair of sneakers in my life. I’m not much of a sneaker girl (for some reason I always feel somewhat deflated when I put them on) but these babies by Gienchi have all the right ingredients – bling, grunge, and rock n’ roll.

Boutique by Topshop

Love the rawness and simplicity of the Boutique by Topshop photo shoot.  Boutique promises to offer directional pieces – and it really delivers. Fisherman jumpers paired back with silk slips and ankle boots or pointed heels couldn’t feel more right at this moment. The grey trench is one of my particular favourites for it’s drape, movement, and extreme slit back.

P.s. Dropped by Topshop today for the grand opening in Melbourne… Yes – I braved it! The Boutique range is just as good in the flesh!

Parcel love

I love online shopping. So much so I can’t even imagine a time without it. What is not to love when a stylish box arrives with goodies lovingly wrapped up? Very excited about these latest purchases from AllSaints. These python jeans are from their SS12 collection and from what I’ve seen I say bring on 2012 – and fast!

White on White

I love the simplicity of white on white…
